Oscar Mvula, DDS
Dr. Oscar Mvula found his passion for pediatric dentistry by participating in clinical rotations focused on children and patients with special needs. Dr. Oscar earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2007 and received his Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2011. Dr. Oscar is a board certified pediatric dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Oscar is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and now calls Charlotte home.
Charles Cooke, DDS, MS
Dr. Charles Cooke is a pediatric dentist who proudly offers gentle dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs. Dr. Cooke received his Bachelor of Arts in music from Duke University and his Doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Dr. Cooke’s devotion to caring for his community and those in need led him to participate in service and teaching opportunities both nationally and abroad, serving in global dental missions, traveling to Florianopolis, Brazil and Lilongwe, Malawi. Dr. Cooke is an avid Duke Basketball fan! He enjoys spending time with his wife and children!
Stephanie R. Boone-Smith, DDS
Dr. Stephanie R. Boone-Smith is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. She is a 1998 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University in which she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. She is also a 2005 Howard University College of Dentistry graduate.
Dr. Boone is an avid motorcyclist. She also enjoys playing the piano, singing, and fast cars. Family is very important to her. She and her husband, Leroy, currently reside in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. Her motto is, “Remember who and whose you are and you’ll never forget whence you came.”
Cecilia Akintonde, DDS
Dr. Cecilia Akintonde is a pediatric dentist focused on serving the unique dental needs of infants, children, adolescents, and special needs patients – all populations who require a great deal of care, patience, and heart alongside specialized training. She understands that oral health is an important part of overall systemic health and she focuses on helping her patients develop the skills necessary to build the foundation for healthy smiles.
Dr. Cecilia completed her undergraduate education at the University of Maryland, College Park where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in kinesiology. She then attended Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, she completed her residency training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, serving as Chief Resident during her final year.
Dr. Cecilia is very excited to be joining the team and is ready to explore the Carolinas and most of all – continue following her passion for working with children and their families. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and watching football.
